Terms and Conditions – working with Lovegrove Copy

Service Description

I offer copywriting services, working with clients either on a project basis or retainer basis.

After an initial discovery chat, I send you a proposal outlining the deliverables, timeline, and cost. Once you accept the proposal by return email, I’ll send you an invoice for 50% of the project fee to kick things off.

For clients on a retainer, work is billed one month in advance, based on an agreed number of hours or deliverables each month.

Payment Terms

For project-based work, I’ll send you an invoice for 50% of the project fee once you accept the proposal. This needs to be paid within 7 days/before I start work. The final payment is due within 7 days of me sending the completed work.

For retainer clients, I’ll send an invoice for the agreed monthly fee at the start of each month, with payment due before work commences for that month. Any additional work outside the agreed retainer hours or deliverables is totally possible, and can be discussed as a separate project.

Payment should be made to the bank account details provided in the invoice, and you can choose how to transfer the payment.

If payments are late, I’ll send a reminder. No late fees will apply, but I may pause work or hold off delivering final files until payment is received.

Refund Policy

The 50% deposit is non-refundable.

If for any reason I am unable to complete the project, I will refund an amount that reflects the percentage of the work not completed.

If you decide to cancel the project after work has begun, the deposit will not be refunded, and I may charge for any additional work completed beyond the deposit amount.

Revisions

I typically offer 2 rounds of revisions as part of the project. If you need more revisions, I’m happy to accommodate those if they fit within the original project scope and deliverables. Additional revisions will be charged at $160 per hour.

Feedback is best delivered during a video call or in-person meeting (where practical), or through comments and mark-ups in the document itself.

I’m open to any changes and feedback! If something isn’t resonating or if something feels wonderful, I want to know. While I don’t expect you to rewrite or wordsmith the copy, please share your thoughts on why something does or doesn’t resonate with you.

Communication

We’ll kick off with a video or in-person meeting (where practical) to discuss the project. After that, we’ll communicate regularly via email.

I’ll schedule a video or in-person meeting for the first draft deadline day, where I’ll walk you through the project and provide you with the document afterward. This way, you can digest the information and gather feedback from others involved.

It’s helpful if you can provide feedback within 7 days, depending on the final deadline and size of the project. Please note that slower responses to questions could impact the project timeline.

Intellectual Property

I retain ownership of the work until you make the final payment. Generally, there are no restrictions on how you can use the work I produce, but this will be considered on a project-by-project basis.

I reserve the right to use all work in my portfolio or for promotional purposes unless you indicate otherwise.

AI Transparency

I rarely use AI tools, and when I do, it’s only for administrative purposes like writing terms and conditions or checking spelling, not for creative work.

Your project will be fully crafted by me, myself, and I to ensure it delivers exactly what you need.

Rest assured; to protect your privacy and ensure the security of your data, I won’t input any confidential or sensitive client information into AI platforms.

Cancellation/Termination

Either party can cancel the project with 7 days’ notice.

If you cancel the project, the refund policy applies, and I will bill you for any work completed above the 50% deposit.

If I’m working on a retainer basis with you, then 4 weeks’ notice is required from either party to end the contract.

Final Clause

These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and me regarding the services provided. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or verbal. By engaging my services, you agree to these terms and conditions in full. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be in effect.
