Summary

Xero are a global accounting software firm and big supporters of women’s football. With a tight two-week turnaround, they needed support to enter three major awards. I researched, interviewed stakeholders, and wrote two award nominations and a video script, tailored to judges’ criteria and weighted rubrics. Working across teams in NZ, Australia, and the UK, I helped deliver a standout result: Gold at the Stevie Awards, Bronze at The Drum, and finalists at the YouTube Marketing Awards.

They’re committed to demystifying complex advice and want their ads to show their personality and how they differ from other traditional and stuffy companies. I was responsible for all copy, plus basic design and coordination with the publisher.

Groov is a workplace wellbeing app that delivers practical content to support mental and emotional health. They needed short, snackable articles for time-poor users of both the Groov and AIA Vitality apps. I researched and wrote 30 mobile-first pieces in a casual, conversational tone, working closely with the content and science team to deliver on-brand, publish-ready copy.

A refreshed brand voice meant reworking 25+ product descriptions, taglines, and usage hints for Home Essentials. I quickly got up to speed with their new direction, aligned copy with Medsafe requirements, and worked closely with the marketing manager to deliver on time. I’ve since stayed on-call to support new product rollouts.

I’m always in when it comes to helping old colleagues from the sport that shaped my career. This time, it was crafting an A4 brochure to support a $13M+ fundraising push for the redevelopment of an iconic tennis venue. I wrote clear, emotive copy tailored to high-net-worth donors, balancing urgency, pride, and professionalism in a clean, skimmable layout with strong headlines and persuasive subheads.

Take four types of fences, and explain the customer’s before, during, and after experience in a way that’s inspiring, enabling, confident, and friendly. The goal? Case study copy that sparks confidence and inspires other Kiwi to get their own fencing projects underway. PlaceMakers is the largest supplier of building materials in NZ. I learnt a lot about fences (and even more about retaining walls) while working on this and another project for them.

I developed the format and content for a Supporters Pack designed to arm parents with the tools they need to fundraise for their children’s overseas rep team competitions. It included clear, actionable ideas, templates, and messaging to help families raise funds through workplaces, communities, and personal networks. It’s one of many projects I’ve delivered as their go-to copywriter.
